2020 has been a year with challenges. A.P. Moeller - Maersk had to adapt to unfamiliar and uncomfortable situations and constant change.
Therefore Maersk announced that employees below the executive level will receive a one-time Exceptional Recognition of US $1,000 (or local currency equivalent), gross.
More than 11,000 seafarers qualified
This one-time Exceptional Recognition will naturally also be awarded to seafarers meeting the criteria of either 1) being active in the pool on 1 December 2020, and 2) been on an active vessel assignment in the last six months.
This will account for more than 11,000 seafarers.
Trainees, cadets, or third-party employed, such as repair teams, are not qualified for the scheme.
As Søren Skou phrase it, this has truly been a team achievement of all Maersk employees.
