On December 5, HNA Technology issued an announcement to purchase two bulk carriers, each at a cost of 145.51 million yuan.
ASIAN EAGLE SHIPPING LIMITED, a subsidiary of HNA Technology, intends to purchase the capsize bulk carriers “BULK HARVEST” and “BULK JOYANCE” from BULK HARVEST SHIPPING S.A. and GCSLBULK AOO1 LIMITED through the establishment of subsidiaries ASIAN PROSPERITY SHIPPING LIMITED, ASIAN STAR MARINE LIMITED.
The two 176,000 dwt bulk carriers were built by Jinhai Heavy Industry in 2012. Jinhai Heavy Industry is a subsidiary of HNA Group.
In October this year, Jinhai delivered JSD6000 deepwater crane and pipe laying vessel for Shanghai Zhenhua Port Machinery Company Limited.
HNA Technology disclosed in another announcement that the company has increased its business scope, including international liner shipping; international freight forwarding; NVOCC business; international shipping agency, etc.
HNA Technology stated that through this transaction, the company entered the bulk cargo shipping market segment and broadened the company's industrial chain.
