With the increasingly stringent international maritime environmental protection, IMO has set a carbon emission reduction target for 2050. At present, "green energy" such as LNG, LPG, ethane fuel or hybrid battery propulsion cannot achieve zero carbon emission, so the company has been exploring the development of zero-carbon emission ships.
NH3 is easy to store and transport. When burned, it will not produce greenhouse gas carbon dioxide.
The AIP certification aimed at VLGC is the company's innovation leading in the field of its LNG carrier combined with the characteristics of NH3 as transportation goods. It is also the company's latest attempt after the development of LNG, LPG and ethane dual-fuel powered liquefied gas.
