Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding completed and delivered the world's first self-sailing vessel and the second Fast4Ward® Floating Production Storage & Offloading (FPSO) on August 31 for SBM OFFSHORE.

The general FPSO is a new design concept ship suitable for a variety of marine environmental conditions, with a variety of riser systems, and can be configured with a disassembled propulsion system, which can meet various design parameter combinations.

The FPSO delivered continues to use SBM's original "universal" hull design concept, which was jointly designed by CSSC 708 Institute and Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding.

The hull is 333 meters long, 60 meters wide and 33 meters deep. It has a displacement of 460,000 tons and a storage capacity of 2.3 million barrels of oil.

The ship finally installed two of the world's most advanced ABB pod-type electric full-rotation thrusters, which can reduce oil consumption by more than 90% and fuel consumption by more than 10%.
