China Merchants Cruise obtained AIP from BV xinde marine news Sarah Yu 2020-07-20 16:59

On July 15, the 250 passenger polar cruise project independently developed by China Merchants Cruise Shipbuilding obtained AIP certificate from BV.

On December 4, 2019, China Merchants Industry Group and France BV Classification Society held the signing ceremony of the joint research and development agreement of 250 passenger polar exploration cruise ship.

With a length of 117 meters and a gross tonnage of about 9,200 dwt, this type of cruise ship is designed to carry 250 passengers, and its stability meets the requirements of SOLAS Convention (SOLAS 2020) criteria, further enhancing the safety of the ship.

The cooperation between China Merchants Industry and BV in polar exploration cruise construction has a good foundation. The first polar exploration cruise of China delivered in September 2019 was built by China Merchants Industry and  classified into BV.

In the future, China Merchants Group will promote the development of the whole industry chain of cruise ships. At present, China Merchants Industry has held many orders for medium-sized cruise ships, especially for exploring cruise ships, which ranks among the top in the world.
