Wärtsilä appoints waterjet distributor for Chinese market xinde marine news 2020-06-10 09:13

The technology group Wärtsilä has assigned Shanghai Wenli Engine Engineering (Wenli) as its distributor in China for the sales, distribution, installation, and after-sales service of the company's range of Midsize waterjets. The contract was signed in May and will promote Wärtsilä’s share of the Chinese market for high-speed vessel applications.

"The Chinese market for building high-speed ferries, patrol boats, fast workboats, and yachts is strong, and by providing high quality local support we can deliver quick response capability to serve this sector more effectively. For this we believe that Wenli is the right partner for us, and we look forward to a successful relationship," says Sander van Oosterhout, Director Waterjets at Wärtsilä.

"Wärtsilä is a well-recognised and successful global provider of quality waterjet solutions since 1976. We are honoured, therefore, to represent the most complete off-the-shelf waterjet on the market in China and to use all efforts to promote the Wärtsilä brand to our customers," says Shanghai Wenli Engine Engineering General Manager, Zhou Wen Li.

The Wärtsilä Midsize waterjet series comprises five sizes for engine power ratings ranging from 1000 to 4500 kW. They are designed to be easy maintainable, and are compact, lightweight and easy to install, with a plug-and-play package that reduces the time needed for installation by as much as 80 percent. Installation costs are, therefore, also significantly reduced.
