Runji 1, the first bunker oil supply ship tailor made for China (Zhejiang) Free Trade Pilot Zone, went on a trial run around Daishan Island on June 4.

The ship, designed by the Zhejiang Xinhai Ship Design and Research Institute and built by Zhoushan Hetai Ship Repair and Construction Co Ltd, was specially made to deal with the large waves in the FTZ.

The trial run confirmed that the ship's main engine as well as driving and control facilities, which have all met the relevant technical requirements, are functioning properly.

The ship, which will be into use soon, will further improve the volume and efficiency of fuel oil supply in Zhoushan and boost the overall competitiveness of ports in the city, experts said.

Launched on April 23, the vessel is a 5,000-ton double-bottom and double-shell dedicated fuel barge with a total length of 95 meters and a width of 16 meters. It is equipped with the latest digital mass flowmeter model imported from overseas.
