1.Hong Kong-based financial leasing house CSSC Shipping has secured a US$116.8m loan facility from an unnamed bank. 
 
2.COSL,the offshore service unit of CNOOC,has fixed charter contracts for two newbuild PSVs with Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding.

3.Bulk carrier operator Taiwan Navigation has entered into a shipbuilding contract with Japan's Oshima Shipbuilding for the construction of one 63,700 dwt ultramax bulk carrier.

4.China's Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange (ZCE) said on its website that it will roll out thermal coal options simulation trading on May 26 to prepare for real transaction.

5.An important international treaty which helps prevent the spread of potentially invasive aquatic species by ships now covers more than 90% of shipping worldwide.

6.In recognition of National Maritime Day, held on May 22 each year, President Donald Trump issued a proclamation honoring the U.S. maritime industry. 

7.The Annual Summit that was originally set to take place on 13-14 October in London will be postponed until 2021. 

8.China's steel association and major steelmakers have called for an increase in domestic iron ore production.
