A seafarer from Maersk diagnosed with COVID-19 xinde marine news 2020-05-09 15:24

A crew member from the Lexa Maersk is currently in a St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands hospital and has been diagnosed with COVID-19. The vessel diverted to the US Virgin Islands to allow the crewmember to receive the appropriate medical treatment at the nearest hospital. Onboard isolation protocol was initiated in cooperation with shore-based medical support and Lexa Maersk is currently back enroute to Algeciras, Spain as per the next scheduled port call. The safety of crews remains paramount.
 
Lexa Maersk has a nominal capacity of 4045 TEU (twenty foot equivalent) and flies the Danish flag.
