"The Hong Kong Shipping Register ("HKSR") is an autonomous shipping register with an excellent reputation for high quality. Hong Kong registered ships are among the best performers in the world in terms of Port State Control inspection results. We are grateful for your unfailing support all along leading to this success. We also express gratitude to our seafarers on board HK ships, with dignity and respect, of the challenges(both physical and mental health), hardships and sacrifices that they have made to keep the global supply chain moving. Especially in these difficult times, our seafarers are playing a very important role in delivering vital goods, including medical supplies and foodstuffs, which are crucial for responding to, and eventually overcoming, the COVID-19 pandemic," from HKSR.

Photography tells stories. The HKSR will launch a series of photography competitions, with a view to building up a channel for our "hidden heros" to tell their stories and giving chances to showcase their photographic skills. As a kick start, the HKSR now launches the 1st round competition theming on the "Colours of HK Ships".

As the word "Colours" refers to flags, this photography theme also brings attention to the proper display of flags on board Hong Kong Registered Ships and showcases the beauty and harmonious integration of ships under the natural and distinctive scenery at sea or in port..

For details, please refer to the "Colours of HK Ships Photography Competition Rules" annexed to this Circular. Once the applicant submits for competition, both the participant and his/her company understand, agree and will abide to the these rules.
