New Vessels Named and Delivered by COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Industry in the First Week of 2018
 


COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Industry made a good start by successfully delivering four new vessels in the first week of 2018. 


 
COSCO Shipping published on the company's press release: on January 4, Dalian COSCO KHI Ship Engineering Co., Ltd. (DACKS) named and delivered a 308,000 DWT VLCC. Ms. Duan Xianghui, Director of China Merchants Group Limited, Mr. Su Xingang, Executive Vice President of China Merchants Group Limited, Mr. Wang Yuhang, Executive Vice President of COSCO SHIPPING, and Mr. Xie Chunlin, President of China Merchants Energy Shipping Co., Ltd (CMES) attended the naming and delivery ceremony.
 
As a next-generation vessel featuring economy, energy saving, safety and environmental friendliness, it is the first of the two VLCCs built by DACKS for CMES, with a total length of 333 meters, molded depth of 30 meters and design speed of 15.5 knots. Years of operation have shown that it stands out in terms of carrying capacity, sailing speed, fuel consumption, etc., winning acclaim from ship owners. 
 


On January 3, Yangzhou COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. named and delivered three 64,000 DWT bulk carriers built for Tomini Shipping based in the United Arab Emirates.
 
At the naming ceremony, CEO of Tomini Group Mr. Nitin Mehta spoke highly of the advanced shipbuilding technology and excellent vessel quality of COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Industry, and looked forward to further cooperation between the two sides.
