On April 11, Group President Hu Jianhua met with the Governor of Liaoning province Tang Yijun in Shenyang. Executive Vice President, Wang Cuijun and, Chief Digital Officer, Director of Financial Business Division, Zhang Jian attended the meeting.
Tang Yijun expressed that Liaoning attaches great importance to the strategic cooperation with China Merchants Group, and has always regarded the promotion of port resource integration as a critical measure for Liaoning to deepen reform, expand opening and optimize the environment, as well as an active carrier for building a significant portal to Northeast Asia. In the next step, we should take the deepening of port cooperation as an opportunity, the development and construction of the Taiping Bay as the focus and the port-based industry as the core to establish an efficient coordination mechanism and accelerate the creation of the "New Shekou" in Northeast Asia with a broader vision and more considerable efforts, striving to create a new frontier for opening-up.
Hu Jianhua expressed his gratitude to Governor Tang Yijun for his care and support for the development of China Merchants Group's various business sectors in Liaoning, reviewed the business development of China Merchants Group in the past year and outlined the Group's epidemic prevention and control work. He said that with the care and support of the Liaoning Provincial Government, Liaoning Port Group had made positive progress in all aspects of its business development. Although the epidemic has been fast-spreading since the beginning of this year, the downside risks of the global economy have intensified, and the Group's operating and development pressure has increased, China Merchants Group's original intention for promoting the integration of Liaoning ports and assisting in the full revitalization of Liaoning and the Northeast region remains unchanged.
