China's Mar rail cargo shipments up 4.5% MoM xinde marine news 2020-04-10 10:26


China's raiway cargo shipments increased in March compared with a month ago,in a sign that the country's economic activities improved as COVID-19 pandemic impact reduced.
 
Total rail freight volume reached 346 million tonnes in March,up by 4.5% from a month ago and at the same level in a year earlier,data showed from the China State Railway Group.
 
Daily shipments stood at 11.16 million tonnes last month,with daily coal transports increased 5.1% month on month,which greatly ensured coal supply to downstream users.
 
The average days of coal usage in independent power plants in the country remained above 20 days in March.
 
About 6.53 million tonnes of fertilizer,pesticide and other materials for spring tillage were transported via raiway in March,surging 40% from the February-level.
