Following the opening of the Middle East route, at the end of April, HMM, a member of THE Alliance, will also have a 24000TEU container ship, making its maiden voyage at Qingdao port of Shandong.
 
THE Alliance is the third largest container liner alliance in the world. Its members include Hapag-Lloyd, Ocean Network, YangMing Marine and Hyundai Merchant Marine. It has a 26% market share of Asia-Europe routes and a 29% market share of trans-Pacific routes.
