Hong Kong's Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) says that its China New Zealand Service (CNS) will offer the fastest transit times for southbound shipments from northeast Asia to Wellington, New Zealand.

The carrier said a new direct port call to Wellington will replace the port Chalmers call in order to "match market demand changes in the New Zealand trade", a company statement said.

The first southbound voyage operated by the APL Denver on the new port rotation is scheduled to arrive in Shanghai on May 14, and the northbound voyage run by the same vessel is due to depart from Wellington on June 11.

The revised CNS port rotation is: Shanghai, Ningbo, Shekou, Kaohsiung, Brisbane, Auckland, Lyttelton, Wellington, Napier, Tauranga, Hong Kong, Keelung and back to Shanghai.
