1. COSCO Delivered the All 3600 Series Container Ships for Maersk. On January 9, the 3600 TEU container ship (N694) built by Zhoushan COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry for Maersk Line successfully launched on No.2 slipway.
 
2. Sources say that Singapore shipowner IMC has ordered approximately a series of eight chemical tankers at CSSC Offshore & Marine Engineering (COMEC). The order includes four 55,000-dwt ships and a further of four vessels estimated worth $280 million and will be delivered between 2020 and 2021.
 
3. Experts pointed out the characteristics of gas condensate and the effects of its leakage into the sea. According to Yantai Oil Spill Emergency Technology Center simulation, 5 hours later after condensate leakage, the remaining oil content are less than 1% on the sea.
 
4. On January 8, 2018, Capt. Xu Lirong, Chairman of COSCO SHIPPING, and Mr. Huang Xiaowen, Executive Vice President of COSCO SHIPPING, met with Mr. OH KEO DON, the Former Minister of Korean Marine fisheries and the Professor of Busan National University of Korea. Both sides reviewed the long term cooperation on Busan Port, and exchanged views on the future investment and development. 
 
5. China Shanghai WAIGAOQIAO Shipbuilding Company (SWS) started the construction of 187,000 tons of bulk carriers H146. The ship is 299.88 meters in length, 47.5 meters in width and 24.7 meters in depth, meeting TIERIII and HCSR specifications.
 
6. On Jan. 8, China Jiangnan Shipyard group delivered "Desert Orchid", a 22k cubic meter LPG ship built for Petredec Company.
