China authority prioritizes coal and gas shipment xinde marine news 2018-01-09 16:56

China's Ministry of Transport will prioritize transport of coal and natural gas this winter to avert energy crisis in peak demand heating season, state-owned media reported.

Ports and maritime departments are asked to strengthen transportation dispatch to well ensure loading and unloading of coal and natural gas; shipping firms should guarantee implementation of transport contracts for coal and LNG, reported www.zgjtb.com, which is sponsored by the ministry.

Supply has been squeezed in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region since the start of the heating season in November. And this is expected to gradually ease with authorities' efforts showing effect.

China has 16 LNG-dedicated terminals at 13 coastal ports in eastern and southern regions, with combined handling capacity at 68 Mtpa. In north region there are three LNG-dedicated terminals with throughput capacity totaling 18.6 Mtpa.
