Spot rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe in the week ending Friday fell a further two per cent to US$581 per TEU.
Asia-Mediterranean rates fell 2.7 per cent to $722 per TEU, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).
Rates from Shanghai-US west coast fell 1.1pc at $1,3138 per FEU while China-US east coast dropped 0.5 to $2,335 per FEU.
