China NTS Won Six VLOCs Order


 
After confirming the lease of Vale, South Korea's Pan Ocean also confirmed that it will order 6 VLOCs at a Chinese shipyard.
 
Pan Ocean, the South Korean shipping company, announced that it has obtained a 27-year long-term contract with Vale for the transportation of iron ore valued at 1,980 billion KRW (about 1.82 billion USD). Pan Ocean will ship iron ore from Brazil to China by 2020-2047.


 
Pan Ocean currently operates eight VLOCs and the company expressed it will invest 483 billion KRW (about 440 million USD) to order six VLOCs at a designated Chinese shipyard at a price of about $ 74 million per ship, and the expected time for  delivery is from December 2019 to September 2021.According to sources, Pan Ocean has signed contract with China Jiangsu New Times Shipbuilding (NTS) to build these bulk carriers.
