1.Recently, Shenzhen Maritime Safety Administration issued first electronic certificate for seafarers, marking that Shenzhen seafarers' certificate took the lead into the electronic era.
 
2.China’s Shandong province has officially set up Shandong Port Group to integrate all the major port assets in the province under one platform, as part of the central government’s ongoing effort to consolidate the port sector.
 
3.The Hong Kong Seaport Alliance (HKSPA) today welcomed OOCL HONG KONG, one of the world’s largest container vessels, on its maiden call to Hong Kong at the HKSPA’s facilities at Terminal 8. The vessel, together with ten other mega vessels from Orient Overseas Container Line Limited (OOCL) and COSCO SHIPPING Lines Co., Ltd (COSCO SHIPPING), has been deployed on the OCEAN Alliance’s Asia-North Europe Service since late June.
 
4.China's crude oil futures settled higher on Tuesday.The most active contract for September 2019 delivery increased 0.59 percent to 444.1 yuan per barrel, data from the Shanghai International Energy Exchange showed. 
 
5.The Panama Canal Authority (ACP) is conducting a public consultation on a proposal to adjust the Panama Canal tolls for containerships, vehicle carriers, dry bulk carriers, tankers, chemical carriers, LPG and LNG vessels, passenger vessels and small vessels. The proposed new toll charges are anticipated to enter into effect on 1 January 2020, the same day as the IMO ‘Global Sulphur Cap’ regulation.
 
6.Chinese iron ore futures rose more than 3% on Tuesday, extending gains for a fourth straight session, on expectations that imports of the steelmaking material remained weak in July, keeping supply somewhat tight in the world’s top steel producer.
 
7.Drewry has downgraded its forecast for throughput growth in 2019 as outside risks mount.Container port throughput growth is expected to continue its softening trend in 2019, as the industry comes to grips with numerous headwinds.
 
8.Chinese company Hengtong Logistics has entered into a framework agreement with CIMC Raffles for the development of medium-small scale LNG carriers and LNG bunkering vessels.
