Spot rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe in the week ending Friday fell 4.4 per cent to US$745 per TEU, while the Shanghai-Mediterranean run flattened to $741 per TEU, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).
The SCFI recorded a 1.6 per cent fall on the Shanghai-US west coast leg to $1,416 per FEU while China-US east coast rates were 1.5 per cent down at $2,464 per FEU.
