COSCO SHIPPING and JD Group Signed Strategic Cooperation Agreement
 
On November 23, COSCO SHIPPING Group and Jingdong Group (JD Group) signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Shanghai. COSCO SHIPPING Chairman Xu Lirong, Managing Director Wan Min, JD Group Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Liu Qiangdong and Chief Strategy Officer Liao Jianwen attended and witnessed the signing. Huang Xiaowen, deputy general manager of COSCO SHIPPING Group and CEO of JD Logistics Wang Zhenhui signed on behalf of both parties. 


 
According to the strategic cooperation agreement, both parties unanimously decided to establish a comprehensive strategic partnership. In the future, both parties will conduct all-round strategic cooperation in the fields of shipping, logistics, e-commerce, science and technology and finance according to the principle of marketization. Besides, both parties will focus on strengthening logistics distribution in the last mile, overseas warehouses and fresh-cold-chain logistics to carry out full-scale logistics cooperation and give full play to their respective technological research advantages in the field to enhance their big data analysis capabilities for customers.

It is one of the two largest B2C online retailers in China by transaction volume and revenue, a member of the Fortune Global 500 and a major competitor to Alibaba-run Tmall. As of September 2017, it has 258.3 million monthly active users. JD.com is the world's leading company in high tech and AI delivery through drones, autonomous technology and robots, and possesses the largest drone delivery system, infrastructure and capability in the world.
