Spot rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe in the week ending Friday was around US$700 per TEU, according to a poll of spot indices carried out by London's Loadstar.
The Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI) was unavailable, but the poll showed that the rate on the Asia-Mediterranean trade was around $725 per TEU.
The transpacific spot rates were reported to be "stable" at around $1,600 per FEU for Asia to US west coast, and $2,700 per FEU to the east coast.
