The Hong Kong Maritime and Port Board recently visited Norway as part of a more extensive tour of the Nordic countries. The aim of the trip was to promote Hong Kong as an international maritime centre and to learn more about “green” maritime initiatives being undertaken in Norway. The group visited Oslo on 14 March where they met the Norwegian Minister of Trade and Fisheries, DNVGL and the Norwegian Shipowners Association before travelling to Bergen on Friday, 15 March with a full program of events arranged by Gard’s Bergen office. The program had a particular focus on sustainable maritime technology and included a trip onboard the Fjord1 hybrid ferry and a visit onboard the Fjordline LNG ferry. The group also visited local shipowners Odfjell SE and Grieg Star Shipping.
