China’s coastal coal freights moved up slightly

 
Freight rates for shipping coal from Qinhuangdao port in northern China to Zhangjiagang, Shanghai and Guangzhou rose tentatively in the past week, Qinhuangdao Port said Tuesday.
 
The freight rate from Qinhuangdao to Zhangjiagang in eastern China’s Jiangsu province for 20,000-30,000 mt capacity vessels inched up by Yuan 0.60/mt week on week to Yuan 50.50/mt ($7.61/mt) on November 7, Qinhuangdao Port said.
 
The rate from Qinhuangdao to Shanghai in eastern China for vessels with a capacity of 40,000-50,000 mt edged up by Yuan 0.40/mt to Yuan 41.80/mt.
The rate from Qinhuangdao to Guangzhou in southern China for 50,000-60,000 mt vessels edged up by Yuan 0.50/mt to Yuan 54.10/mt.
 
The recent rise in bunker fuel prices has in some measure encouraged the coastal freight market, the port operator said.
