Huanghua port – exclusively owned by coal giant Shenhua Group – handled a total 49.37 million tonnes of coal in the first quarter this year, hitting a record high during the same period.
The port suspended handling for a total 28 times since this year amid adverse weather, totaling 361.8 hours, increasing by 57.3 hours from a year earlier.
In March, Huanghua port halted shipment for 11 times totaling 120.8 hours due to strong wind, up by 74.6 hours. However, its loading in the month reached 18.11 million tonnes, the highest monthly volume in history.
