East China's Fujian province plans to further facilitate cross-border trade by boosting port clearance efficiency and lowering costs.

According to a recent released government guideline, the province aims to slash average clearance time in half by the end of 2021, and implement the charges catalogue system to strictly prohibit extra charges in the process.

As of the end of this year, it pledges to shorten the clearance time by 30 percent over that in 2017, the document said.

In 2017, Fujian's foreign trade maintained a 12 percent annual growth speed rising to 1.16 trillion yuan in total.
