On July 25, a historic milestone was achieved — the world’s first green ammonia bunkering operation for marine fuel was successfully completed by at Dalian Port.

This landmark operation, certified by ISCC – the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification Plus and Bureau Veritas Group, involved 100% renewable electricity-based green ammonia, offering a truly zero-carbon marine fuel option.

With this breakthrough, Dalian becomes the first port globally capable of supplying biofuel, green methanol, LNG, and green ammonia — firmly establishing its role as a green fuel hub in Northeast Asia.

The success was made possible through the close collaboration between:

China Shipping & Sinopec Suppliers.
COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry Dalian
Envision Energy

With strong support from maritime, industrial, and local government authorities, this operation sets a new benchmark for international collaboration on maritime decarbonization.

This milestone not only strengthens China's leadership in green shipping solutions but also contributes valuable experience to the global effort for a sustainable maritime future.
