Chinese container shipping company, the subsidiary company of Zhejiang Seaport Group——Ningbo Ocean Shipping Co., Ltd. (NBOSCO): The successful international debut of its first converted domestic-to-international container vessel, Xin Ming Zhou 90, which recently completed its maiden voyage to Ho Chi Minh Port, Vietnam, carrying 808 TEUs!

The “domestic-to-international” conversion involves upgrading navigation systems, communication equipment, and compliance with global maritime standards—a complex process that unlocks new operational capabilities. This transformation allows NOSCO to optimize fleet efficiency, expand service networks, and better support China’s Belt and Road Initiative and dual-circulation strategy.

Xin Ming Zhou 90 (delivered in 2021) is no ordinary vessel. Built by Yangzijiang Shipbuilding, this 1,000-TEU ship boasts cutting-edge green technology, superior energy efficiency, and smart features, setting a benchmark in sustainable shipping.

NBOSCO isn’t stopping here! Sister vessels Xin Ming Zhou 92 and Xin Ming Zhou 96 are slated for similar conversions, soon joining regional routes.

NBOSCO said,This expansion will strengthen NBOSCO’s competitive edge in international container shipping, enhance transit services, and accelerate its vision to become “Asia’s Leading Regional Logistics Service Provider.”

The project reflects meticulous planning—from market analysis on cargo potential and port capacity to close collaboration with maritime authorities, classification societies, and shipyards. Kudos to NBOSCO’s technical and operations teams for seamless execution!

By repurposing domestic assets for global trade lanes, NOSCO demonstrates agility in meeting diversified market demands while driving operational synergy. A case study in resource optimization and strategic innovation!
