SPG promotes itself in Singapore SPG 2023-02-27 11:38

A delegation led by Huo Gaoyuan, chairman and Party secretary of Shandong Port Group (SPG), paid a visit to Singapore from Feb 16 to 20. The five-day trip comprised exclusive meetings with local officials and enterprise senior managers, as well as promotion activities between SPG and its Singaporean partners.

Senior managers of Singapore's Pacific International Lines (PIL) said that SPG is one of the most important business partners of PIL, and both sides are making comprehensive efforts to improve customer service and operational efficiency and to promote sustainable development. They expressed their hopes of further deepening cooperation and achieving win-win results.

Huo said that SPG has witnessed huge growth in its business scale and high-quality development since its establishment in 2019, and both its cargo throughput and container volume are at the forefront in China and across the globe. Currently, SPG is accelerating its pace of its transformation from a port operator to an integrated service provider.

Huo expressed his hope that both sides will deepen cooperation in supply chains, and promote win-win cooperation in more fields.

Sun Haiyan, ambassador of China to Singapore, introduced Singapore's economic and trade situation, and policy system to the SPG delegation, and said she hopes that SPG will give full play to its advantages as a comprehensive hub port, and contribute to the economic and trade exchanges between China and Singapore.

Huo also had a symposium with Rao Zhongming, executive director of Singapore Transport and Logistics. Rao said that the entry into force of the RCEP agreement has enhanced Singapore's function as a hub in global trade. SPG boasts great advantages in areas such as trade, logistics, high-end technologies, and new energy application.

Rao added that both sides should deepen cooperation in such areas as trade and logistics channels and combined sea-rail transport and data information in an effort to play bigger roles in enhancing the connectivity and mutual benefit of enterprises of the two countries.
