Shandong ports in full swing during Spring Festival holiday SPG 2023-02-03 11:39

Ports in Shandong province were teeming with vehicles and ships during the recently concluded Spring Festival holiday.
 
During the seven-day holiday, which lasted from Jan 21 to 27, the total cargo throughput and container volume witnessed outstanding progress, with a year-on-year increase of 4.1 percent and 9.1 percent, respectively.
 
Qingdao port has been boosting economic and trade exchanges with member states involved in the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership agreement through high-quality and efficient services to expand the market and promote the high-quality development of the container industry at all ports in Shandong.
 
Rizhao port has seen robust growth in cargo throughput, container throughput and the berthing and departure of ships, with a year-on-year increase of 4 percent, 6.7 percent, and 6.4 percent, respectively. In addition, the port has enhanced its loading efficiency, reduced loading costs, and significantly improved the railway dredging capacity.
 
The cargo throughput at Yantai port hit 8.215 million tons during the seven-day holiday. Since the first day of the Spring Festival, the port handled 58,000 passengers and 22,000 ro-ro ships, with a year-on-year increase of 61 percent and 69 percent, respectively.
 
In spite of a cold spell, the front-line workers at Bohai bay port have worked hard to handle the production needs of customers and maintain the stability and smoothness of the supply chain.
 
The major groups operate all aspects of the industrial chain and supply chain in the ports in Shandong has utilized business integration as a way to explore new businesses.
