On November 11, the "Safeen Power" departed from Qingdao Port in Shandong Province, marking the opening of the "Middle East - Far East" Route jointly operated by Shandong Port Group and ABU Dhabi Ports. Shandong Port has added a new Middle East container route under the Belt and Road Initiative.

According to reports, the new route will be operated by Safeen Feeder, a wholly-owned shipping company under ABU Dhabi Ports. The first voyage will be connected to two ports in China, Qingdao and Ningbo, direct to Khalifa Port in ABU Dhabi, and then transfer to 13 major ports in the Middle East and Africa, such as Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Bahrain and Sudan. The opening of the new route will bring a large number of funds, resources and projects to Shandong Port, bringing a single container throughput of nearly 3, 800TEU.
