Li Keqiang inspected Yantian Port: To build a higher-level international container port CCTV 2022-08-18 16:53

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang called for efforts to support business startups and innovation, enhance opening-up and promoting employment during an inspection trip to the tech hub of Shenzhen City in south China's Guangdong Province on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Li stressed the imperative need to effectively coordinate epidemic prevention and control with economic and social development, consolidate the foundation of economic recovery and give priority to stabilizing economic growth, in order to keep the economy performing within an appropriate range.

Noting that Guangdong Province and Shenzhen City are on the front line of China's reform and opening-up, Li urged them to make greater contribution to the country's development.

Li visited the Yantian Port, an important port in south China that sees a large proportion of its trade with developed countries. He called for efforts to maintain smooth and effective operation of the port while stabilizing industrial and supply chains. No matter how the international situations change, China will steadfastly expand opening-up and make full use of both the domestic and international markets and resources, so as to improve its economic competitiveness and realize mutual benefit.
