China's crude oil imports hit new daily high in April xinde marine news 2018-05-09 14:25



China's crude oil imports reached a record high on a daily basis in April, latest customs data showed. 
 
China imported 39.46 million tons of crude oil last month, or 9.6 million barrels per day, breaking the previous record of 9.57 million barrels per day set in January, according to data released by the General Administration of Customs on Tuesday. 
 
Imports for the first four months rose 8.9 percent from a year earlier to 151.43 million barrels, or 9.21 million barrels per day, according to the official data. 
 
China surpassed the United States to become the world's largest crude oil importer in 2017, with imports hitting a historical high of 419.57 million tons, or 8.4 million barrels per day.
