According to the latest data from Ministry of Transport, Ningbo Zhoushan Port handled 1.172 billion tons of cargo in 2020. A year-on-year increase of 4.7%, cargo throughput remained the world's first for the 12th consecutive year
 
Ningbo Zhoushan Port completed the container throughput of 28.72 million TEU. A year-on-year increase of 4.3%. Freight container throughput continues to rank third in the world.
 
Facing the impact of COVID-19, Ningbo Zhoushan Port made full use of its geographical advantages such as the One Belt & One Road and the Yangtze River Economic Belt hub node to serve the network, the total number of container routes reached a new record of 260, the annual sailings rose to nearly 5000, the annual container sea-rail transport business volume exceeded 1 million TEU for the first time, a year-on-year growth of 24.2%.
