Ningbo-Zhoushan Port off to a good start xinde marine news 2018-02-28 14:02

Ningbo-Zhoushan Port in East China's Zhejiang province, the world's largest port in terms of cargo throughput, was off to a good start during the Chinese New Year.

Over the seven-day Spring Festival holiday, which lasted from Feb 15 to 21, Ningbo-Zhoushan Port processed 12.58 million metric tons of cargo, up 18.9 percent from last year. The port's throughput exceeded 497,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU), a year-on-year increase of 23 percent.

The port's heavy traffic so far is a good indicator that it will perform well for the rest of the year.
