1. Mr. Fu Gangfeng was assigned as New Group President of China Merchant Group. On the morning of February 9, 2018, China Merchants Group Co., Ltd. held the leadership (enlarged) meeting. Mr. Fu Gangfeng was appointed as the Group President of China Merchants Group Co., Ltd.
 
2. The International Maritime Organisation (IMO) has signed a new partnership agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The agreement will help promote sustainable shipping through a range of safety and environment-focused capacity-building activities in the maritime and port sectors in selected countries.
 
3. US LNG export player Cheniere Energy said on Friday it had entered into two liquefied natural gas sale and purchase agreements with state-owned China National Petroleum Corporation. This is the first long-term contract for US LNG supplies to China, currently the world's second-largest LNG importer.
 
4. Maersk has revealed growing revenue and improving profit in A.P. Moller – Maersk, primarily driven by Maersk Line. Underlying profit for the continuing operations was USD 356 million, compared to a loss of USD 496 million in 2016. 
 
5. Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM), on Friday announced a consortium with global liners – MSC, Hapag-Lloyd, and ONE to launch joint services between Asia and west coast of South America.
