Caofeidian port, located in Tangshan city, saw coal handing reach 115.51 million tonnes in January-September this year, increasing by 4.3% from the preceding year, Xinhua News reported citing the port's logistic park head.

Caofeidian port area, a significant part of Tangshan port, will be developed into a deep-water port for bulk cargoes, mainly ore products and coal.

It is a major steel and coal base by connecting Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, northern Shanxi and western Inner Mongolia.

The port connects with several main rail lines. It connects Daqin line through Qiancao rail line, which makes it a second important transfer port after Qinhuangdao port. In addition, the port also connects with many main roads which could provide transport convenience to major production areas.
