China's first expedition cruise launched successfully xinde marine news Anita Liu 2019-03-12 14:46


On the morning of 12 March, the launching ceremony of the Expedition Cruise Vessel No.1 & Steel Cutting Ceremony of the Expedition Cruise Vessel No.3 of China Merchants Industry Holdings CO.,LTD was successfully held in Haimen, Jiangsu province. The officials of the local government, Mr. Jakob Linulf,the Consul general of the Danish consulate general in Shanghai, Mr. Niels-Erik Lund, CEO of Sunstone Ships, Mr. Greg Mortimer, the founder of Aurora, Mr. Matthieu de Tugny, the vice president of BV, Mr. Norbert Kray, the Chairman of greater China of DNV GL and Mr. Wang Cuijun, Executive Vice President of China Merchants Group Limited attended the ceremony.

According to China Merchants Industry Holdings Company, the ship is 104.4 meters long, 18.4 meters wide and weigh 7,400 tonnes, with a speed of at least 15.5 knots.

The successful launch of this cruise ship marks that China Merchants Industry Holdings CO.,LTD has made significant achievements in the field of cruise ship manufacturing, leading the design and construction of cruise ship in China and driving domestic shipbuilding enterprises to embark on the new journey of "cruise ship made in China".
