Sailing the direct sea freight route between Taiwan's Kaohsiung and Fujian’s Pingtan of east China, a freighter from Kaohsiung arrived at Pingtan port on its second voyage on Sunday.
The goods included almost ten kinds of fresh agricultural and aquatic products such as fruits and sea foods. They could reach consumers' table the same day of arrival.
The direct sea freight route was launched on Jan. 20, shortening the shipping time from two or three days to nine hours. The goods from Kaohsiung were sold out in less than three days in Pingtan.
The direct sea freight route began its regular operation from last week and runs on a half-monthly schedule.
