COSCO SHIPPING Lines Announces the Launch of OCEAN Alliance Day Seven Product in 2023

In the face of external uncertainties over the past six years, the OCEAN Alliance continuously optimized the service network, enhanced the capacity deployment, and gained the acclaim from customers with high-quality and stable services.
 
The launch of the OCEAN Alliance DAY 7 Product in 2023 ushers in a new chapter for the development of the alliance. Going forward, it will continue to uphold the customer-centric principle. Boasting 353 vessels with an aggregate capacity of 4.62 million TEUs, OCEAN Alliance provides customers with a variety of service options.
 
The OCEAN Alliance is always committed to the “green and low-carbon” concept, and attaches great importance to regulatory compliance. The DAY 7 products will be officially launched on January 1st, 2023 in tandem with the implementation of the IMO's new environmental rules, which demonstrates the OCEAN Alliance’s commitment and determination to fulfill the carriers’ social responsibilities.
 
The OCEAN Alliance DAY 7 product to be launched in 2023 will cover 40 shipping routes and one Non-OA Transatlantic loop:
 
• 7 Far East - North Europe services
• 4 Far East - Mediterranean services
• 21 Trans-Pacific services (including 13 West Coast North America services, 8 East Coast North America and U.S. Gulf services)
• 3 Trans-Atlantic services(including one Non-OA loop)
• 4 Middle East services
• 2 Red Sea services
 
7 Far East – North Europe services
 
The OCEAN Alliance will provide 7 North Europe direct services, including 4 upgraded loops. With an emphasis on the “green shipping and low-carbon” principle, we will optimize port rotation and vessel deployment to increase the vessel energy efficiency and the schedule reliability of its services. These loops shall offer direct services to 18 Asian ports and 15 North European ports along with around 100 port-pair coverage, thereby providing customers with high-frequency and comprehensive shipping services. Leveraging COSCO SHIPPIING’s transshipment hubs like Zeebrugge, Rotterdam, Gdansk and its own feeder network, its services shall be further extended to Spain, Ireland, Sweden, Denmark, Poland and Finland.

4 Far East - Mediterranean services
 
The OCEAN Alliance will provide 4 direct services to the Mediterranean Sea and further optimize port rotation and vessel deployment to expedite the “low-carbon” transformation. We will stick to the diversification development and add direct services between Far East and Alexandria. Our Mediterranean services would offer extensive and unique coverage with direct connection between 14 Asian ports and 17 Mediterranean ports and provide around 120 port-pair coverage.

Leveraging the transshipment hub of Piraeus, the feeder network operated by Diamond Line, a subsidiary of COSCO SHIPPING, and the synergies brought by China-Europe Railway Express, its services will be extended to Central / Eastern Europe, the Balkans, the East Mediterranean Sea, the Adriatic Sea and the Black Sea regions.

21 Trans-Pacific services
 
The trans-Pacific services of DAY 7 product to be launched in 2023 will present customers with a more stable, unique and faster direct services on the trans-Pacific routes by optimizing the port rotation and ships deployment, thereby further improving the service quality of the routes. We consolidate the services between China and North America, and provide express shipping services connecting South China, East China and North China and North America. At the same time, in alignment with the trend of supply chain diversity, we will further improve the services between Southeast Asia and North America, and provide 7 stable direct shipping services between Southeast Asia and North America.
 
DAY 7 will provide a total of 21 trans-Pacific services, including 9 services between the Far East and the Southwest America, 4 services to the Northwest America and 8 services to the East Coast North America and the U.S. Gulf.
 
9 Pacific Southwest services
 
In 2023, the OCEAN Alliance will provide a total of 9 Pacific Southwest services, including one upgraded loop. It will provide stable and fast direct services between North China, East China, South China, South Korea and Southeast Asia to and from North America, including 4 services covering Southeast Asia.

The PNW services to be launched in 2023 consist of 4 loops, providing unique connections between Far East and Northwest North America, by calling 4 key ports in the Northwest North America in each loop so as to offer customized services.

The USEC services of DAY 7 product will consist of 8 loops, providing our customers with multiple departures from Far East with a variety of first callings in the USEC, including 3 New York Express, 3 Savannah Express and 2 Gulf Express. There will be 3 loops covering Southeast Asia.

The Ocean Alliance will provide direct connection between the major ports of Europe, the United States and Mexico. We had upgraded the capacity of their flagship fleets for TAE services to 13,000 TEU (a new market standard), hence delivering reliable direct services to customers. In addition, the EAG services will provide direct connection between Europe, the ports of Miami, Houston in Southern United States and the Gulf of Mexico.

4 Far East - Middle East services:
 
Members of the OCEAN Alliance will jointly enhance the service stability and provide market-leading services by deploying our flagship vessels and extensive network to offer direct connection and faster delivery services. COSCO SHIPPING Lines and OOCL shall deploy flagship vessels with a capacity of 20,000 TEU each to continue to provide stable service on MEX routes. Through Abu Dhabi, a regional transshipment hub in the Middle East, as well as the related feeder network, we will persistently enhance our service network and expand our reach to major ports in the Middle East countries such as Kuwait, Damman, Sharjah, Bahrain, Umm Qasr and Hamad, and even to the Mukalla Port in the Red Sea and other main ports in East Africa. We will provide value-added services to customers through CSP-CFS in Abu Dhabi.

The OCEAN Alliance offers comprehensive services between the Far East and the Red Sea, including direct services to Jeddah, Sokhna, Aqaba and Djibouti. The access to Aden in Yemen through Jeddah,and a comprehensive plan to reach Ethiopia through Djibouti will be established to continuously enhance the customer experience.
