Huanghai Shipbuilding won another order for two 1800TEU container ships from the German shipowner

German shipowner Briese Schiffahrts confirmed the execution of an alternative order for adding two 1800 TEU container ships at Huanghai Shipbuilding.

The two new ships were ordered on July 16 and are scheduled to be delivered in 2023. In addition to these two ships, Briese Schiffahrts has ordered 6 1800TEU container ships in Huanghai Shipbuilding since this year, and has also ordered 4 1900TEU container ships in Huangpu Wenchong, all of which are delivered in 2023.

Huanghai Shipbuilding initially signed a contract with Briese Schiffahrts for the construction of four 1800TEU container ships in June.

The ship has a total length of 172 meters, a molded width of 28.4 meters, a molded depth of 14.5 meters, a design draft of 8.5 meters, a deadweight of 24,000 DWT, and a service speed of 18.5 knots. It is classified into BV.

Huanghai Shipbuilding's order is the second time that Briese Schiffahrts has ordered a container ship from a Chinese shipbuilding company this year. In April, the company signed four 1900TEU container ship construction contracts with Huangpu Wenchong and China Shipbuilding Trading through the "cloud signing" method.
