DSIC won another 155,000DWT shuttle tanker order from Northsea Shipping


On July 22, China Shipbuilding Trading and Dalian Shipbuilding Industry signed a contract to build a 155,000DWT shuttle tanker with Shanghai Northsea Shipping.
 
The contract is the second vessel ordered by Northsea Shipping under the 1+1 155,000DWT shuttle tanker project contract signed by DSIC in November 2020.
 
The whole design work, including contract design, detailed production design, is independently undertaken by DSIC, and the ship will be classed into DNV GL. The ship is 279 meters long, 48 meters wide and 23.7 meters deep. The design draft is 16 meters and the deadweight is 155,000DWT.
 
The ship meets the latest international standards and environmental protection requirements. It has the characteristics of strong harbor adaptability, meets the latest international rules, conventions and the relevant regulations of the EU and the United States, and applies to a wide range of navigation waters.
 
This type of ship is equipped with dynamic positioning and bow loading system, which is mainly used to receive crude oil exported from FPSO or production platform and transport it to land or VLCC. It is called "floating oil pipe".
