From January to June 2021, the national shipbuilding completed volume was 20.922 million dwt, a year-on-year increase of 19.0%, of which sea-going ships were 5.784 million CGT; New ship orders were 38.244 million DWT, an increase of 206.8% year-on-year, of which sea-going ships were 13.721 million CGT. As of the end of June, the number of hand-held ship orders was 86.60 million dwt, an increase of 21.8% over the number of hand-held orders at the end of 2020. Among them, sea-going ships accounted for 32.44 million CGT, and export ships accounted for 89.0% of the total.
2. International market share
In the first half of 2021, China's shipbuilding's three major indicators of international market share in terms of deadweight tonnage maintained the world's lead. Shipbuilding completed, new orders, and hand-held orders in terms of deadweight tonnage accounted for 44.9%, 51.0% and 45.8% of the world's total, respectively. There are six, six and six companies in the top 10 of the world in terms of shipbuilding completion, new orders and hand-held orders, respectively.
3. Industry concentration
From January to June 2021, the concentration of the shipbuilding industry will remain at a relatively high level. The top 10 shipbuilding companies accounted for 75.7% of the country; The top 10 companies receiving new ship orders accounted for 79.5% of the country; The top 10 companies holding ship orders accounted for 71.4% nationwide.
