BV issued AIP to the FGSS of CIMC Raffles

On April 23, Mr. Ersin Eren, Director of North Asia Operations of BV Classification Society, presented the FGSS-Fuel Gas Supply System AIP certificate to CIMC Raffles on behalf of BV Classification Society.
 
FGSS is an independent natural gas supply system for marine LNG or LNG/ diesel dual-fuel main engine. The system uses LNG as raw material to transform LNG into fuel gas that meets certain intake requirements and supplies it to the main engine through processes such as pressurization and vaporization.
 
In October 2008, MEPC of IMO adopted MARPOL Annex VI at its 58th meeting, which required that the sulfur content in fuel used by ships worldwide be reduced from 3.5%m/m to 0.5%m/m starting from January 1, 2020.
 
Faced with the most stringent emission standards in history, shipowners in various countries must take corresponding measures if they want to continue operating in the pollution control area after 2020.
