On April 19, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding announced that it had recently signed a contract to build 15 new vessels with a total value of $970 million.
According to the announcement, Yangzijiang signed 15 new ships, including six 15000TEU container ships, two 2400TEU container ships, two 50,000DWT MR tankers, three 82,300DWT bulk carriers and two 31,800DWT Lake bulk carriers, which are scheduled for delivery between 2022 and 2023.
On March 5, Yangzijiang said it had ordered 31 ships worth $1.74 billion, These include four 11,800TEU container ships, four 15,000TEU container ships, five 12,200TEU container ships, four 2,600TEU container ships, four 1,800TEU container ships, and 10 82,300DWT bulk carriers.
Prior to this, the company also received 29 newbuilding orders worth US$1.3 billion this year, including four 24,000TEU ultra-large container ships, eight 1800TEU container ships, four 66,000DWT bulk carriers, and ten 4600TEU domestic trade container ships, one 82,300DWT bulk carrier and two 31800DWT bulk carriers.
So far this year, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding has secured 75 effective shipbuilding contracts worth a total of US $4.01 billion.
