Nanjing realizes the first crew changeover of international ships


On the morning of March 17, Nanjing successfully completed the first shift change of the crew of an international sailing ship during the epidemic.

Wu Yunjin, deputy director of Nanjing Maritime Safety Administration, directed on the spot, accompanied by Lu Shixing, deputy director of Longtan Maritime Department. Jiangsu Ocean Shipping Agency applied to Nanjing Maritime Safety Administration for changing the crew of "JOSCO STAR", which will berth at Nanjing Longtan Container Terminal 802 at 08:30 on March 17.

The ship's last port of call was Nagoya, Japan, which belongs to the severely infected country announced by the customs. In order to coordinate the prevention and control of the epidemic,
Nanjing Maritime Safety Administration attaches great importance to it, communicates with the port units, discusses and formulates the plan of crew shift.

The Maritime Safety Administration is responsible for the inspection of the ship's entry into the port, the customs conducts boarding quarantine and issues personal health declarations, border inspections go through customs clearance procedures, and local governments are responsible for the transfer, sampling, and quarantine of the departing crew.

At 11:50 am on March 17, after the customs and border inspection personnel conducted on-site health examination and completed the customs clearance procedures, the crew was directly sent to the novel coronavirus epidemic prevention and control quarantine centre of Suzhou for further medical observation.
