Chinan Ocean Industry Group announced that on March 20, it signed a MOU with Longxing Shipping and the shipbuilding company Jiangxi Triton Hovercraft Manufacturing.
According to the cooperation framework agreement, Longxing Shipping intends to order 30 passenger ships and five 60-80 passenger hovercrafts from China Ocean Industry Group and Jiangxi Triton Hovercraft Manufacturing.
In addition, Chinan Ocean Industry Group and Jiangxi Triton Hovercraft Manufacturing will also be responsible for the development and construction of 100 high-speed passenger ships and 20 passenger ro-ro ships. Relevant technical parameters and delivery time will be further discussed.
China Ocean Industry Group , which appears to be a state-owned company but is actually a private shipbuilding company, is listed in Hong Kong in 1998, and has been losing money for 21 consecutive years since 1999.
Previously, China Ocean Industry Group has actually gradually withdrawn from the shipbuilding industry.
