SUMEC Marine signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Wah Kwong on April 23rd, and both parties inked a contract for the newbuilding of two Crown63PLUS vessels.

Hing Zhao, Executive Chairman of Wah Kwong, said that the two parties have already cooperated in many fields such as newbuilding and supervision. The four vessels that have been delivered have performed well and are highly recognized in the market. It is hoped that both sides will strengthen exchanges in ship design optimization and make improvements again.

During this cooperation, both parties will discuss the upgrading of the ship type, and further improve the performance of the ships by installing sails, shafts, etc to reduce the overall energy consumption by 3.5%, and try to reach the level of EEDI Phase 4.
