GSI delivered the first dual-fuel PCTC built in South China Xinde Marine News Sarah Yu 2023-09-13 15:18

On September 12, the 7,000 CEU LNG dual-fuel PCTC "EMDEN", the first ship built by CSSC Guangzhou Shipyard International and China Shipbuilding Trading for Norwegian SFL company was signed for delivery , this is also the first dual-fuel PCTC built in South China.

The ship has a total length of 200 meters, a width of 38 meters, a design draft of 8.6 meters, and a design speed of 19 knots. It has 13 decks and can carry about 7,000 vehicles, two of which can carry hydrogen fuel vehicles.
 
The ship is designed with LNG/fuel oil dual-fuel propulsion system, and it meets EEDI Phase III requirements. It is an energy-saving, environmentally friendly and efficient PCTC.

Relying on the technical experience accumulated in building luxury ro-ro passenger ships, Guangzhou Shipyard International has quickly entered the PCTC market starting in 2021. It currently holds orders for 25 ships, achieving a leap from "zero" to "world-leading".
